About Sorey

Sorey García is a Principal Architect and Partner at MILL5, using her twenty-plus years of Microsoft technology experience to guide complex software projects and cultivate a high-performing team of developers. Her background spans roles as a business analyst, developer, architect, and manager, giving her a holistic understanding of the software development lifecycle. She also plays a key role in co-managing MILL5’s Latin America offices and supporting the continued growth of the organization.

Throughout her career, Sorey has specialized in .NET development, cloud-native solutions, mobile applications, and distributed systems. She founded and led the Avanet Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering local developers and promoting knowledge sharing. Her ongoing commitment to the technical community earned her the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) recognition for nine consecutive years, reflecting her influence and expertise within the industry.

Originally from Colombia, Sorey holds a degree in Informatics Engineering and a specialization in Software Development from Universidad EAFIT. She is passionate about simplifying complex concepts, mentoring developers, and fostering innovation. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family, supporting technology communities, and contributing to initiatives that inspire the next generation of software professionals.
